Welcome to our Giving Tuesday and End of Year 2024 Giving Campaign. Our goal this year is $14,000, for obvious reasons ;) We are so thankful for every dollar we receive! 1. Expanding Our Reach with the Ring14 Alliance
In 2025, we are launching the Ring14 Alliance, a global initiative to unite all Ring14 International families under one organization. This expansion will allow families in countries without a chapter to join the Ring14 Family, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need.
2. Advancing Care through the Neurogenetic Clinic
In 2021, we launched a Neurogenetic Clinic at Children's Hospital of Colorado, offering personalized care and cutting-edge research opportunities for children with Ring14 disorders. Each child seen in the clinic adds to the expertise needed to advance care for all Ring14 families. Your donations ensure this critical clinic remains available to every family in need.
3. Supporting Cutting-Edge Research
We are funding two research projects in partnership with CURE Epilepsy and the Orphan Disease Center (ODC), focused on understanding and treating Ring14 disorders:
- Reconstructing Diverse Genomic Structures and Functional Consequences of Chromosome 14 Rings, Michael Talkowski, PhD at Massachusetts General Hospital
- A Multi-omics Investigation of Ring14, Heather Mefford, PhD at St Jude Children's Research Hospital
A new research grant for 2025 in partnership with the ODC will be announced soon. Your contributions enable us to continue driving these vital efforts forward.
4. Building Community through Family Meet-Ups
In 2025, we’re planning regional family meet-ups to make it easier for families to connect. These events provide an invaluable opportunity for sharing experiences, building community, and accessing resources. Your support makes these impactful gatherings possible.
5. Looking Ahead to the 2026 Global Conference
Our vision for 2026 includes hosting a global conference that will bring families, researchers, and clinicians together. This event will foster education, collaboration, and community while advancing research through blood sample collection and data sharing. Your donations will help turn this vision into a reality.

At Ring14USA, our main goals are: a) promote and fund research initiatives to find effective treatments and therapies for the children affected by rare genetic disorders of the 14th chromosome b) raise awareness through education, and c) support the children, families, and caregivers in as many ways as possible. Ultimately, our mission is to improve the quality of life for these children and those who care for them by providing solutions, community and hope.
